Yes. All of our products are made in a dedicated facility free from dairy, eggs and animal byproducts. We use the term “Milk” for our Milk Chocolate products simply to identify the flavour of the chocolate - ie: lighter and less bitter than dark chocolate. Rest assured there is are no milk ingredients in our products.

Although our products do not contain any the top 10 priority food allergens, we only test our products for peanuts, dairy and gluten. 

We collect allergen statements from all of our suppliers who state their ingredients are free from the top 10 priority food allergens. We also produce our products in our own dedicated facility that is free from the top 10 priority allergens. However, we have made the decision to limit our allergen claims only guaranteeing we are free from gluten, dairy and peanuts.

Nothing has changed with our ingredients or suppliers so technically our products are still free from the top 10 food allergens. However, we have now implemented stringent allergen testing of all ingredients that are used in our products. Due to steep costs, we only conduct these tests for gluten, peanuts and dairy.

Yes we do however we do suggest a 1-2 day shipping window. If you select the Cool Shield Add-On (+$3.99), we use metallic bubble wrap and ice packs to keep the chocolate as cool as possible, and we will ship your order within this window. This method keeps product cool for up to 2 days. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, we cannot fully guarantee product won't melt (ie: the courier leaves your package on a sunny front step for 6 hours). If you qualify for 'Free Shipping', we will try our best to ship your product within 2 business days. Our products are shelf stable for 6 months inside their packaging from the date of their production.  

No. Our products are shelf stable but we do recommend storing them in a cool, dark place to extend their shelf life. They also freeze very well.

Fairtrade is a certification program with an alternative approach to conventional trade and is based on a partnership between producers and consumers. When farmers can sell on Fairtrade terms, it provides them with a better deal and improved terms of trade. This allows them the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their everyday shopping. 

When a product carries the FAIRTRADE Mark it means the producers and traders have met Fairtrade Standards.

Fairtrade Standards are designed to address the imbalance of power in trading relationships, unstable markets and the injustices of conventional trade. Products have a set Fairtrade Minimum Price, which is the minimum that must be paid to the producers. In addition, producers get an additional sum, the Fairtrade Premium, to invest in their communities or businesses.

Our supplier’s cocoa and chocolate products are Fairtrade certified with a premium. They go above and beyond to support the communities and businesses they source cocoa from. However, because we are a small business, we have not yet received our Fairtrade certification and thus, are not legally allowed to claim we are Fairtrade. That is why we state we are ethically sourced (it doesn’t change where the chocolate comes from or the fact that it is Fairtrade). We are working toward affording the Fairtrade certification ourselves.
